| RSVP on our Meetup.com pageI was able to get the pavilion located right beside the Paw Playground this time. There is also a human playground if you wish to bring your children. A map of the park is here if you wish to see the layout. I've reserved Pavilion #3 for our use. In the event of rain we will just meet at the pavilion since it is covered. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Costume Contest InfoWe will be holding a costume contest! The meetup will be in the afternoon, we'll let the doggies play for a while in the paw playground and then dress them up for our costume contest and fashion show. Prizes will be given out for best costumes in different categories. Participation is of course optional, feel free to bring your corgi and look at all the other tortured corgis if you want -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SnacksIf you can, please bring snacks of some type so we can have some finger foods (chips, cookies, crackers, veggies etc.) available. You can indicate in your RSVP comment if you're bringing something so everyone else can see it. If you wish to bring something that needs to be on ice you may want to bring your own cooler. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RaffleWe're also holding a raffle to benefit CorgiAid! Kollars by Kathryn has generously donated two gift certificates for customized martingale leash/collar combos. If you win one of the gift certificates you can contact her and choose the style/colors for your leash! Her leashes are all the rage in the agility world right now and definitely something you can't find in any pet store. See pictures of her happy customers (one is a corgi!). All raffle proceeds will be donated directly to CorgiAid in our meetup groups name. Please bring cash if you wish to buy tickets for the raffle. You can buy as many tickets to enter as you'd like - tickets will be on sale for $1 each. The drawing will be held at the meetup and I will bring some leashes she's already made so you can get an idea of what they look like. CorgiAid is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to supporting independent rescue of Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh corgis and corgi mixes of either breed worldwide. We provide funds for extraordinary expenses involved in rescue. These expenses could be such things as major medical expenses to provide quality of life for rescued animals, transportation expenses to move a rescued corgi long distances to a new home, and other similar expenses. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John Chestnut Park Rules No alcohol, helium balloons, tacks/nails or firearms are allowed inside the park. All dogs must be on a 6' or shorter leash while outside of the paw playground.

| I would LOVE to have a corgi costume party. Can the owners dress up too? Maybe some of us can dress to match our corgi! |

| That sounds like a lot of fun. I'll try to get my boys to wear a costume... it hasn't been too successful in the past. Jen has a great idea: owners dressing up would be fun. I've got so many ideas running thru my head now! |

| My only thoughts are on a venue - trying to find a place that is indoors and allows dogs is kinda difficult. So it would probably have to be a park with a covered pavilion or something unless someone has another idea. I might be able to contact a restaurant with outdoor seating that might allow us to hold it there (hey they get business so why not?) I'd love to dress up too I think it would be fun. |

| I did a google search and came across this site: http://www.petfriendlytravel.com/pet_dog_friendly_restaurants/US/Florida/FL/TampaI was looking at GrillSmith, it's on S. Dale Mabry which would be easy access for each side of the bay. Also, I've eaten at Pink Flamingo and they're very dog friendly... it's on Davis Islands and there is a dog park and beach on the other end of the island. Let me know what you think. |

| I (the human) would love to meet at a restaurant, however I don't think my 4 legged friends are behaved enough around food... But something outdoors with costumes would be fun, If they will keep them on... |

| I think a park with a pavilion would probably be the best idea. We could do a pot luck or a barbecue, so the humans could eat, but it wouldn't be in a restaurant setting so it wouldn't matter if some of the dogs weren't so well behaved around the food... I'm very new here so I don't really have any suggestions for a venue. But I think the costume ideas are WONDERFUL, for both the corgis and their people! Although I don't think Josh is really thrilled about dressing up our pups...haha I will anyway! |

It looks fun, and for a costume party it might be right up our alley. _________________ I count Corgis in my sleep

I was thinking Gaspars Grotto as well - I think they'd be very open to us being there and might even do drink specials or something to that nature (they used to hold a Yappy Hour too with Poodletinis). But with GrillSmith being new to the dog patio stuff perhaps they might be as well? You guys let me know what you think and I can contact some folks over there to see if they'd be open to hosting our group. |
